Lainey Wilson’s big night at the 2023 Country Music Association Awards left her boyfriend, former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, “speechless.”
Taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the ex-Steelers signal caller — who has been dating the “Heart Like A Truck” singer since 2021 — shared a video of Wilson, 31, posing with her five CMA Awards trophies, including the prize for Entertainer of the Year.
“I’m speechless,” Hodges, 27, captioned the clip that featured Wilson smiling in what appeared to be the press room at the Nashville event.
In addition to the Entertainer of the Year nod, Wilson received the honors for Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year.
She was also awarded Music Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year with HARDY for “wait in the truck.”
Upon receiving the trophy for Female Vocalist of the Year, Wilson shared a heartfelt messages to her young fans.
“For all you little girls watching and for the ones that are here tonight too, it’s something that I’m doing, I’m getting up every single day and I’m looking at myself in the mirror and saying, ‘I am beautiful. I am smart. I’m godly. I’m fearless.’ If somebody tells me I can’t do it, hold my beer. Watch this,” Wilson said, according to ABC News.
Hodges, who joined Wilson on the red carpet earlier in the night, also posted an Instagram video of the singer holding up an envelope after being named Entertainer of the Year.
“Entertainer of the Year holy duck,” he wrote.
Wilson previously praised Hodges in a June interview with People.
“Duck is the kind of dude who high-fives me on the way in the door and on the way out and says, ‘Go get it,’” Wilson said.
“He knows how important this dream is to me.”
Hodges is focused on real estate following his retirement from professional football in 2022.
He signed with the Steelers in 2019 as an undrafted free agent before joining the Rams two years later.
