The Post’s college football rankings and Heisman watch following Week 11.
1. Georgia (10-0) (Last week: 1)
That’s now six times Carson Beck has thrown at least two touchdown passes in a game this year, and Saturday against Ole Miss was his fifth game of 300 or more passing yards this fall. He has become the story of this Georgia season, the previously inexperienced junior leading an offense ranked in the top six in both passing yards (323.9) and scoring (41.2).
2. Florida State (10-0) (2)
The Seminoles’ defense, overlooked for most of the season, has kept them undefeated the last two weeks as the offense has sputtered. Florida State is 15th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 17.3 points per game, and it stood tall late in the win over Miami on Saturday.
3. Ohio State (10-0) (3)
There is one more game left before The Game, Minnesota at home next Saturday, but all the focus in Columbus will be on Michigan from now until kickoff Nov. 25. The stakes, a Big Ten East title and spot in the College Football Playoff, couldn’t be higher.
4. Michigan (10-0) (4)
The coach, Jim Harbaugh, has been suspended for a second time, and his team keeps on stacking wins. This Michigan season is going to make for a terrific behind-the-scenes, tell-all story someday.
5. Washington (10-0) (5)
This is no longer just a shaky game or two. This is a month of incomplete performances, particularly from the defense, which is allowing 34.3 points and 464 yards over the last three weeks.
6. Oregon (9-1) (6)
Bo Nix thinks Oregon’s top-ranked scoring offense can get better, a scary thought for remaining Pac-12 opponents Arizona State and Oregon State, and likely Pac-12 Championship Game opponent Washington.
7. Texas (9-1) (7)
The Longhorns continue to play with fire during this four-game winning streak. Three of their wins have come by a combined 13 points, and Saturday’s trip to Iowa State is unlikely to be any easier.
8. Alabama (9-1) (8)
Considering the way this season started, with that ugly home loss to Texas and shaky win at Central Florida, an argument can be made that this is one of Nick Saban’s best coaching jobs. This certainly didn’t look like a team capable of winning the SEC West back in September or even in early October.
9. Louisville (9-1) (NR)
Whatever happens the rest of the way, Jeff Brohm’s first season has been overwhelmingly successful. Louisville has its most wins since 2016 and can clinch a spot in the ACC Championship game with a win over Miami next Saturday.
10. Oregon State (8-2) (NR)
The Beavers can create mayhem in the Pac-12. With games against Washington and Oregon, they can ruin the league’s hopes of reaching the playoff and win the conference outright.
Heisman Watch (in predicted order)
QB Bo Nix, Oregon
My leader in the clubhouse, Nix led Oregon past flatlining USC with his first 400-yard game of the season and third four-touchdown performance. He is completing an absurd 77.7 percent of his passes and has already equaled his career-high of 29 touchdown passes.
QB Michael Penix Jr., Washington
Washington’s leaky defense may be working in Penix’s favor. It is forcing him to be at his best, and he has answered the bell, accounting for three touchdowns and 332 yards through the air in the Huskies’ latest close call Saturday against Utah.
WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
The junior responded to a rare off week by producing a season-high three touchdowns and catching seven passes for 149 yards to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark for the second straight season.
QB Jordan Travis, Florida State
He’s a contender, but not a favorite. Uneven offensive performances by Florida State the last two weeks haven’t helped him.
QB Jayden Daniels, LSU
Daniels continues to pile up incredible numbers, this time 606 total yards and five touchdowns in a win over Florida on Saturday.
