Carol Vorderman was positively beaming as she joined former US President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, at a special fundraising dinner.

The former Countdown presenter, 62, looked delighted as Hilary, 76, engaged her in what looked to be a stimulating conversation.

Meanwhile, Carol looked stunning in a black, semi-sheer dress with silver sparkles as she posed beside former President Bill, 77.

Sharing the snaps to Instagram, Carol explained how she had come to meet the pair at the Swansea-held event in view of her 448,000 followers.

“I give bursaries to @SwanseaUni for kids from my kind of background-free school meals,” the Welsh presenter explained.

“Swansea also provides education for young people from war-torn countries,” she continued. “Hillary Clinton is a great supporter.”

Carol then went on to take a swipe at the Conservative government, which she often publicly criticises, adding: “I might have told a few Tory stories at the fundraiser [wink emoji].”

“To the Clintons,” she added with the prayer emoji, before paying tribute to another joining her at the event who had inspired her.

“And @AnneBoden the founder of @StarlingBank,” Carol continued. “She and I are both Welsh girls of the same age, both similar backgrounds.

“Anne is from Swansea, studied maths at Uni all back in the 1970s when girls like us didn’t do those things.

“Became first woman to set up a bank in the UK and now she’s giving back. You never forget where you’re from. Love her.

Carol then went on to tease: “PS I’ve got so much to tell you about this week…

“And thank you a million times over for your support. I can’t tell you how much of a difference WE, together, can make. Love ya,” she signed off. (sic)

Carol’s post comes days after her exit from her weekly BBC Radio Wales show, after the broadcaster confirmed she had broken BBC guidelines with vocal attacks against the government on social media.

The BBC recently published new social media rules for stars and staff and, in light of this, Carol announced that she was not “prepared to lose my voice on social media” and managers “have decided I must leave”.
