Zach Wilson started a Jets drive by falling onto his back running onto the field — laughing it off with the sideline — and ended it with another costly interception.
He nearly threw a pick to Christian Benford on the drive’s second play.
Then, Rasul Douglas, who the Bills acquired from the Packers ahead of the trade deadline, jumped in front of a throw for Garrett Wilson.
Before the drive began, as Wilson turned and backpedaled onto the field while facing the sideline, he tripped and tumbled over onto the Highmark Stadium field, and CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson said the Jets’ sideline “was cracking up.”
Wilson just glanced toward the sideline and started laughing, too, since that’s “all he could do,” Wolfson added.
He followed the running gaffe by completing a pass to tight end Jeremy Ruckert for a first down.
That was followed by the pass that was almost intercepted.
And when Douglas snagged the ball one play later, it continued a brutal stretch for the Jets to start the game and marked Wilson’s second consecutive week with an interception.
The Bills turned the pick into a touchdown and currently lead the Jets, 16-6.
