King Charles was reportedly left “quite disappointed” that details of his private phone call with estranged son Prince Harry were leaked, according to a royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, last week decided that enough was enough and sensationally picked up the phone to wish his father a happy 75th birthday.

But the gesture — which marked the first time the pair had spoken in over six months — soon became public knowledge, much to the dismay of Charles.

“He’s trying very much to have the focus on his public life and whilst, of course, as a loving father he’s very happy to have a conversation with his estranged son, he wasn’t the one who was leaking this to them to the press,” royal expert Rafe Heydel-Mankoo told GB News.

Heydel-Mankoo said the monarch shifted the blame on his estranged son’s camp for leaking the news.

On Nov. 14, the Sussexes called the King to wish him a happy birthday over the phone, and even played him a pre-recorded video of his grandchildren, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, in which they sing “Happy Birthday” to the monarch.

But the couple were notably absent from the King’s birthday bash later that day, after saying that there was “no contact” from the royals about the fête.

The King’s close family and friends – including Prince William, 41, Kate Middleton, 41, and Queen Camilla, 76 – gathered at Clarence House to mark the occasion.

The royal celebration was also attended by Princess Beatrice, Princess Margaret’s daughter Lady Sarah Chatto and, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall, as well as her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall.

The party was also attended by the King’s leading lady — his wife, Queen Camilla, 76, as well as her son from her first marriage, Tom Parker-Bowles.

It’s been said that Harry hopes the phone call serves as a stepping stone for the pair’s long-overdue reconciliation after reportedly becoming “fed up” of missing royal milestones.

And it seems as though the phone call went so well that Charles and Harry have penciled in yet another over-the-phone catch-up in the coming days in what could be a “turning point” in their relationship.
