Kourtney Kardashian has a mother of a bone to pick with the haters.
The Poosh founder and CEO recently reacted to negative comments online regarding her fourth pregnancy at the age of 44.
Kardashian is currently expecting her fourth child with her rocker husband Travis Barker.
“Those comments don’t affect me,” she told Vanity Fair Italia, via translation, in an interview that was published on Oct. 13. “To those who make them, I just say: how dare you question God’s plan?”
That belief in a higher power is exactly the reason why the reality star and the Blink 182 drummer stopped their in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey.
“We are officially done with IVF,” Kardashian who shared in a confessional on “The Kardashians” Hulu show’s season three premiere. “We would love a baby more than anything, but I just really believe in what God has in store for us. If that’s a baby, then I believe that it will happen.”
“I knew deep down that it wasn’t the right thing,” she added. “And in fact, I kept telling Travis: If we’re meant to have a baby, then it’s just going to happen. And so it was: When we stopped forcing the process, then it happened.”
Kardashian, who is expecting a baby boy with Barker, shares three kids with ex fiancé Scott Disick: Mason Disick, 13; Penelope Disick, 11; and Reign Disick, 8. The couple’s blended family also includes Barker’s daughter Alabama, 17, son Landon, 19 and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 24, from his previous marriage to Shanna Moakler.
Despite the full house, Kardashian loves being pregnant and the fourth time might be the charm for the expectant mother.
“Physically I feel great,” she told the magazine. “I like being pregnant. I’m obsessed with the idea of being pregnant! But this time, unlike the other three, I was followed by a different group of doctors who, in the first months, gave me many restrictions. No workouts, no Pilates, no caffeine, no plane trips. Even no sex!”
“Well, I think all this caution made me a little afraid because in the past I had never had to be careful,” she continued. “It took me a while to let go of the fear, I would say that right after the surgery I got to the point where I let go, I stopped worrying.”
Kardashian’s worst fear almost came to fruition when she underwent “urgent fetal surgery” to save her baby’s life. But thankfully she, and her unborn son, made it through the ordeal.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery,” she wrote in the post that featured a black and white photo of her holding Barker’s hand. “I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear.”
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life,” she added. “I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”
These days Kardashian is focused on staying positive.
“Now I talk to the child every day, have a positive mindset, keep my head straight and say a lot of prayers,” she added. “And I feel really lucky and grateful. Well, I have a lot of gratitude, yes. Not that I didn’t have it before, but perhaps since it came easy to me, I took the pregnancy for granted.”
