Josh Giddey received thunderous applause at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City on Saturday, following recent allegations the guard is allegedly involved in an inappropriate relationship with an underaged girl.

Allegations of the relationship came from an anonymous social media user who uploaded a video showing Giddey — who received a loud ovation from the fans during the starting introductions — and the alleged underaged girl, who the since-deactivated account claims is a high school junior.

Giddey, 21, offered no comment on Friday when asked about the allegations, which surfaced on social media Wednesday evening.

“I understand the question obviously, but no further comment right now,” Giddey told reporters, who pressed him repeatedly.

“I get the question guys, I completely understand you want to know about it, but just for right now, I don’t have anything to say.”

NBA spokesman Michael Bass said on Friday the league was “looking into it.”

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault offered a similar sentiment regarding the situation at Friday night’s practice.

“Personal matter,” Daigneault said. “I have no comment on that and that will be my answer on anything related.”

Giddey has been a key part of Thunder’s six-game winning streak heading before Oklahoma City’s streak ended in a 127-123 loss to the 76ers.

The shooting guard, who was in the starting lineup, scored 10 points but was just 4 of 12 from the field in the loss.

He also had eight assists and seven rebounds.

Giddey entered the night averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 43.5% over 15 games this season.
