The arguably greatest wide receiver prospect in several years might not even enter the upcoming NFL draft.
OK — maybe it’s not going that far, but Ohio State standout Marvin Harrison Jr. was asked after the Buckeyes’ high-profile loss to Michigan on Saturday whether or not he’ll enter the 2024 NFL Draft, where he’s projected to be one of the top players selected.
The 2022 unanimous All-American Selection simply replied, “I don’t know,” allowing for some level of mystery.
“I don’t have an answer for you just yet. Not a conversation to be had. It’s just family. The coaches, teammates. I don’t have an answer for you yet,” Harrison added.
Ohio State entered Saturday’s rivalry matchup as the No. 2 ranked team in the country.
The Buckeyes dropped the contest, 30-24, to the then-No. 3 Michigan.
On Sunday, the Associated Press elevated Michigan to No. 2 and dropped Ohio State to No. 6.
Harrison had five receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown on Saturday afternoon, putting him at 67 catches, 1,211 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on the year.
He also has two carries for 26 yards and a touchdown this season.
He’s considered a candidate for the Biletnikoff Award, given to college football’s top receiver.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper ranked Harrison as the second-best prospect overall for the class of 2024, one spot behind USC quarterback Caleb Williams.
The 2024 NFL Draft will begin on April 25.
