The Rangers have the most points in the NHL, but are they the best team in the league?

Adam Fox returned as the Rangers get an injured player back, but have a few more that will miss some time.

There’s lots to discuss on a new episode of “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast as the whole crew is back together.

MSG Network’s Steve Valiquette joins the pod to talk goaltending as he and Brian Boyle reminisce their days playing with the Blueshirts.

There’s a couple of must-listen stories mixed in.

Up In The Blue Seats Podcast with Brian Boyle, Mollie Walker, Larry Brooks & Andrew Harts:

  • BEST TEAM IN NHL: Larry says it’s a wait-and-see approach. It’s still very early. Rangers look like a deep team, which is a good sign. Vincent Trocheck has been extremely valuable. Adam Fox came back, but they will be without Kaapo Kakko and Filip Chytil for some time.
  • TROUBA TRAIN: Jacob Trouba is helping shift the Rangers from a white collar team. Laid back and goofy in the locker room, but seems to be enemy No. 1. His high stick should have been a penalty. He’s playing his best hockey as a Ranger.

Steve Valiquette Interview: MSG Network analyst, former Rangers goalie

  • QUICK’S SEASON: Was against the signing before the season, but he has been tremendous. He adjusted his style this season.
  • RANGERS GOALTENDING: Rangers need to insulate their goalies better off rush chances. Defending well off the rush is a sign of success for championship teams.
  • VALLY & BOYLE STORIES: Vally recalls the struggles at the end of his career and what Coach Torts would say to him before games he was playing in games they thought they would lose.
