“‘Home Alone’ was, is and always will be a beloved global sensation,” the 69-year-old actress said in her speech at the podium. “[It’s] the reason families all over the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving ‘Home Alone’ together is because of Macaulay Culkin.”

The 43-year-old actor received his star in the category of Motion Pictures following an illustrious career that began when he made his big-screen debut in 1988’s “Rocket Gibraltar.”

Following appearances in 1989’s “See You in the Morning” and “Uncle Buck,” Culkin became a household name when he starred in 1990’s “Home Alone” and the sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” in 1992.

“Macaulay, congratulations,” O’Hara said in conclusion. “You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And thank you for including me, your fake mom who left you home alone not once but twice, to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you.”

He continued working throughout the nineties and appeared in films “The Good Son,” “The Pagemaster” and “Richie Rich” before taking a break from acting.

Also in attendance at the ceremony was Culkin’s fiancée Brenda Song, 34, and their two sons: Dakota, 2, and a baby boy born earlier this year, and his god daughter Paris Jackson.

“Macaulay Culkin has been a staple in pop culture for decades,” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “He has an extensive trajectory of work but his movie, “Home Alone” is one of the most beloved holiday movies known the world over.”

“How fitting that Catherine O’Hara who played Macaulay’s mother in the film is reuniting with her movie son and will be speaking at the ceremony!” added Martinez.

Culkin most recently appeared in “American Horror Story: Installment 10” and in “The Righteous Gemstones,” and currently focuses on supporting charities such as the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and Stand Up to Cancer.
