Rochelle Humes has taken to social media to urge fans to keep her husband Marvin Humes in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle. The plea came before tearfully reacting to the star receiving his letter from her.
On Sunday (December 3) Frankie Dettori became the first celebrity to be axed from the ITV show. Following the 52-year-old’s exit, hosts Ant and Dec revealed that the next eviction would take place on Monday evening.
Prior to the jockey’s removal, Rochelle, 34, took to Instagram on Friday night to remind fans that the voting was open to save Marvin, 38. In a chatty Instagram story – posted to her two million followers – the This Morning presenter said: “I know that he’s having fun.
“Obviously I really want to see him, that goes without saying. And I could do with a hand!” Further in the clip, Rochelle revealed that she was unable to fly out to Australia due to work commitments and looking after her children.
“My predicament is that I really don’t want him to walk out onto that bridge to nobody. “Because that would mean I have really failed him and I’m really trying to make everything happen but I really don’t want him on that bridge lonely.
“So that buys me my day of work on Monday and then I can get straight on the flight, 24 hours and then I’ll be there,” she concluded. Following the news that the JLS star would survive another night in camp, the mum-of-three took to Instagram again to thank fans for their support.
She said: “Thank you so much. I really didn’t want him to go. I needed, I need, need, need to get work done tomorrow and get on that flight.
“Please – I just want to meet him. I just want to be on the bridge.” Further on in the video, The Saturdays hitmaker claimed that she needed to “go to sleep” because the stress was “all too much”.
Following her plea, Rochelle was seen tearfully reacting to her husband receiving his letter from home. In a moving clip, posted to X (formerly Twitter) the presenter held her hand over her mouth when Marvin began crying on screen.
“Oh – he’s crying,” she said before sniffling herself and wiping away a tear. Following the moment, Rochelle reminded her followers that the voting was open again.
In another clip, Rochelle told her followers that the voting for Marvin was open again, adding: “If you don’t mind, stick with me.
“Please vote for him again. I was just about to say I promise I won’t do this every night, but I’m probably going to.”
Last week, the families and friends of this year’s celebrity cohort touched down at Brisbane airport in preparation to meet their loved ones at the end of the I’m A Celeb bridge. As well as Rochelle being absent, Sam Thompson’s girlfriend Zara McDermott was also notably missing.
The Made In Chelsea star previously revealed he’d asked his best friend Pete Wicks to travel Down Under to greet him. The decision was made due to Zara, 26, still competing on Strictly Come Dancing at the time.
Speaking about the decision, Sam, 31, previously told Hits Radio hosts Fleur East and James Barr: “When they asked [me to go into the jungle] I did think, if Zara was still on Strictly would I be a bad boyfriend if I went – but then decided I had to!”. He added: “As it turns out she’s tapping out of Strictly just as I’m tapping in. But because I thought she would still be doing Strictly, Pete’s coming with me!”
Zara was unfortunately voted off the BBC ballroom competition in Week Six. Following her exit, she told Fleur, 36, that she’d asked her boyfriend if she should “pack her case”.
“He went, ‘Oh no it’s already been arranged – Pete is coming’,” she explained. “’When I suggested maybe Pete and I could both go, he said, ‘No, just Pete!’ Maybe I can get Pete to take a cardboard cut-out of me … But you know what it’s fine, absolutely fine.”
Zara continued that she has “all the time in the world” to see him and that if he wants the former Only Way Is Essex star at the end of the bridge then she “respects” his decision.
“Also I can’t wait to see that hug,” she added. The second celebrity is due to be voted off of I’m A Celeb this evening.
Tune into the show tonight on ITV and ITVX from 9pm.
