Strictly winner Ellie Leach has shared with fans that she’d “love to keep dancing” following her victory last weekend, but won’t do it “without Vito.” The Coronation Street star won the BBC dance competition last weekend with Vito Coppola.

Speaking on an Instagram live video with Vito tonight, fans were able to ask the pair questions about their Strictly journey and plans for the new year. One follower asked Ellie if she’d like to keep on dancing now that the show has finished.

She responded: “I want to keep dancing! But not without Vito.” The pair are due to dance together again in the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing tour, which starts in January.

A 30-day tour will be kicking off from January 19 in Birmingham and will be visiting cities such as Newcastle, Glasgow, London, Nottingham and Liverpool. Strictly judges Anton Du Beke, Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood will also be returning.

During last week’s final, it saw three couples battle it out to win the Glitterball Trophy. Each pair had to perform three routines in the hope of winning the whole show.

During the night, some couples managed to notch a perfect 40 points from the judges. Ellie and Vito’s American smooth scored 40, as well as Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin’s quickstep.

However, since the finale one former professional dancer has slammed the show and said that one element of the final was “boring and pointless”.

Brendan Cole, who spent 15 seasons on Strictly Come Dancing, said that too many 10s were awarded on the night.

“I have two opinions on it. I think it was still a good show. I think that the contestants were good. I think they had good publicity. For the most part, I enjoyed watching most of the dances. I wouldn’t say there are too many things that are negative. I’d say the scoring was really high which is boring and pointless,” he explained to Sky Bingo.

Despite Ellie and Vito winning the competition, their showdance routine scored the lowest marks during the evening. Performing to a Jennifer Lopez mashup, the dance included cart-wheeling lifts and saw a mistake at the very end which left Ellie visibly upset.

The Strictly tour will see a number of the 2023 cast return with their partners, as well as a number of stand alone professionals join them. However, a few of the celebrities have been partnered with different dancers.

For instance, Annabel Croft will be dancing with Graziano Di Prima, who was originally with Made in Chelsea star Zara McDermott. Likewise, Krishnan Guru-Murthy is not paired with his original pro Lauren Oakley and will be instead dancing with Jowita Przystal.
