Kate Middleton will be watch-ing out for a luxury Christmas gift from Prince William.

The Princess of Wales is likely to receive a new timepiece or some jewelry from her husband this festive season, King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold believes.

Harrold is quoted in the Express as saying the Royal Family’s Christmas gifts to one another are “always jokey” and a “bit of fun.”

“But with William and Kate, I’m sure they will give each other something nice that they will like. Kate will probably get a watch or some jewelry from William,” he revealed.

Kate is regularly seen sporting her favorite round Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch, which she received in 2014. The watch retails for upwards of $5,000, meaning any new timepiece gifted to her by her hubby is likely to be similarly priced.

Sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, is also a Cartier fan, although she prefers a watch in a different shape. The Duchess of Sussex wears a rectangular Cartier Tank that belonged to her mother-in-law, the late Princess Diana.

Meanwhile, Harrold gave some insight into the family’s annual customs, saying that the monarch, 75, is “very much a traditionalist” and likes things to be done the “old-fashioned way” when it comes to the holidays.

‌”Christmas is very much a time for the Royal Family to be together. It’s a time of caring and being there for each other,” Harrold dished.

The clan has quite the hefty Christmas schedule, including games, a lavish dinner and church services.

On Christmas Eve, the family gathers to give out presents before they indulge in afternoon tea.

Prince Harry even wrote in his 2023 memoir, “Spare“: “The whole family gathered to open gifts on Christmas Eve, as always, a German tradition that survived the anglicizing of the family surname from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor.”

The House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was the original name of the dynasty now known as the Windsors. The moniker changed in 1917 after World War I due to anti-German sentiment at the time.

After they arrive home, a gigantic lunch spread is laid out at around 12:45 p.m, with delicacies such as turkey, parsnips, carrots, Brussels sprouts and brandy.

According to Harrold, Charles also allegedly gifts his staff with quirky presents to celebrate the holiday.

Charles would purportedly sneak items into the lockers of employees at Highgrove, his Gloucestershire home. Harrold says Charles once left him a tin of salmon, and another year he received a salt and pepper grinder tied with a ribbon

“I just thought it was so bizarre because you don’t expect those little things. It shows that they’ve got that fun, practical side to them,” the ex-butler said.
