Meghan Markle and Princess Kate once wore the exact same dress but in slightly different styles.

Princess Kate has been spotted in Diane von Furstenberg’s Zarita dress several times, the first being her appearance at the Royal Variety Performance in 2014.

She also wowed in the floor-length black dress in 2017, for a charity gala at Kensington Palace celebrating Anna Freud Centre’s latest project.

Kate Middleton Style blog described the dress as follows: “The Zarita is a full-length lace gown with a fitted bodice that opens into a sweeping fluted hem.

“The dress features scalloped detailing, three-quarter length sheer lace sleeves, and a deep V-neck back. It is fully lined.”

In 2014 Kate paired the dress with a dainty black clutch bag, and accessorised with a jaw-dropping pair of statement diamond drop earrings.

The royal opted for significant bling again in 2017 when she re-wore the dress, sporting an incredible diamond bracelet and earrings to match.

When Kate first wore the dress in 2014 she styled her hair in a loose chignon, whereas in 2017 she went for dramatic, bouncy curls.

Years before Princess Kate stepped out in the Diane von Furstenberg creation, Meghan Markle wore the exact same dress – just in a different colour and length.

Back in her pre-Harry acting days, Meghan attended a USA Network event in 2012, wearing a shorter, navy version of the dress.

Free from any royal fashion protocols, the actress was free to experiment totally with her style.

She paired the figure-flattering dress with some patent beige pumps, and accessorised with some gold jewellery including a charm bracelet and ring.

Like Kate for her 2017 appearance in the Zarita dress, Meghan opted for a voluminous curly blowdry.

In addition to wearing the same Diane von Furstenberg dress, they once looked almost identical in bright red dresses – practically style twins.
