Antiques Roadshow star Theo Burrell has revealed she has at least “another few months” of life after getting good news on her scan results.
The auction specialist, 36, was diagnosed with a grade four brain tumour in 2022, soon after the birth of her little boy.
The brave BBC star took to Instagram today to share the health update with her 638 followers.
“Good news! Another stable scan under my belt,” she wrote next to a snap of herself with a party blower in her mouth.
“Long term, my GBM is still bad news, it will get me, but today we can celebrate another few months of life!
“Never take the good things in your life for granted. Ever,” she added with a heart emoji.
Theo has undergone months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, plus brain surgery, in a bid to keep the cancer “under control”.
The star received the truly devastating diagnosis when her son was just one year old.
She told the Daily Mail at the time: “Receiving my diagnosis, at the age of 35, when my son was just one year old, was devastating. Overnight everything had changed.
“Suddenly I’d gone from being a healthy person in the middle of my life with a new baby to having incurable cancer with maybe one or two years left to live.”
Theo joined the Antiques Roadshow team back in 2018 and is a ceramics and glass expert with Lyon & Turnbull auctioneers in Edinburgh.
For six months, Theo had suffered from increasingly worsening symptoms but her GP could not pinpoint the cause of her debilitating migraines.
It was only once she went for a scan at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary’s A&E that a 5cm tumour was discovered in her brain.
According to the charity Brain Tumour Research, more children and adults under the age of 40 are killed by the disease than any other form of cancer.
