Brandon Aiyuk’s girlfriend said she was amused by the anger from fans after she seemingly hinted at a divorce between the 49ers receiver and the team in a recent TikTok video.
Last week, Rochelle Searight posted a video of herself at Levi’s Stadium after the Chiefs’ 25-22 overtime win against the 49ers in Super Bowl 2024, and said “we might not be back here” in the Bay next season — which stirred speculation about Aiyuk’s future with the team.
In a separate TikTok video, Searight explained her comments further.
“I am getting a kick out of grown men acting like I leaked top secret info,” Searight wrote over the clip of herself. “This is not the Krabby Patty secret formula baby ain’t nothing a secret.
“& any moves made in his life WE now have lots to figure out since oh, ya know… WE LIVE TOGETHER and share a child. WE move as a unit.”
Aiyuk and Searight share a son, Braylon, who was born in September 2020, according to her Instagram.
The couple has been together since at least November 2018, when Aiyuk played college football at Arizona State.
Searight’s initial video, during which she discussed the couple’s future, is still on her TikTok page.
“This might have been the last day we touched foot on Levi’s Stadium … because we might not be out here next season,” Rochelle said in the video after the 49ers’ devastating loss to the Chiefs.
At the time, Aiyuk shared a curious message on his Instagram Story with a pair of eyeball emojis, which read: “Don’t forget what you got there.”
After the messages were posted, Aiyuk was asked by reporters if he saw himself San Francisco going forward.
“If that’s the right move,” Aiyuk cryptically said.
Aiyuk is under contract for the 2024 season after the 49ers picked up his fifth-year option.
He had 75 catches for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns this past season.
San Francisco selected Aiyuk in the first round (No. 25 overall) of the 2020 NFL draft, and he went on to produce four strong seasons.
Aiyuk has a total 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns in his career.
