As Christmas approaches, many are getting prepared already, with gift sets offering value for money, whether it’s for you’re buying presents for friends and family or treats for yourself.

Boots has started launching its annual Star Gifts, which offer huge savings on beauty and skincare.

One of the most popular sets is The Ordinary The Smooth & Bright Set, which previously sold out after gaining a near perfect rating and has just been restocked.

The set contains an entire skincare routine, so it’s an easy way to keep skin healthy and it costs £29 but the contents are worth £63.40.

There are five products in the set, which can be used daily for healthy skin – and best of all, they’re all full-sized so can be used for a long-term routine and not just once or twice.

The skincare contains a range of key ingredients, including niacinamide which brightens and smooths, caffeine to de-puff under-eyes and reduce dark circles, hyaluronic acid to plump the skin and target wrinkles, and salicylic acid to unclog pores.

Full contents:

  • Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
  • Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
  • Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
  • Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA
  • Salicylic Acid 2% Masque

Some shoppers have said they found the products didn’t work for oily skin, and can leave it looking shinier, so it could be worth opting for an oil-control moisturiser like the PURIFIDE Oil Control Mattifying Moisturiser.

The skincare set is racking up reviews, with some saying their skin ‘feels good and looks bright’.

Betty79 said: ”If you see this set on sale, grab it. This is a great set. All you need in one box. I have been using this brand for over a year now and can’t get enough. My skin has never been better and the prices are really reasonable.”

Karen commented: ”Had been using Medik8 products for several years which suddenly stopped working for me, I had breakouts on my forehead out of the blue, so I switched to The Ordinary after reading reviews, bought the squalene cleanser, salicylic acid mask, glycolic acid toner, niamicide serum and natural moisturising factors and did as per directions every day and my skin has completely cleared up and looks glowing. All these products together cost less than a third of the Medik8 products I was using.”

Laura also added: ”Skin feels good and looks so bright after use. My only problem is I can have quite oily skin so often this leaves me looking/feeling oily and shiny in spots. However I have found that they have a powder to mix into the moisturiser to combat this and ordering some of that now too.”
