Phillip Schofield left This Morning in May 2023 after reports of a feud with his co-star Holly Willoughby.
Mere days after his exit, he admitted to having an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger member of staff who worked at ITV. Phil admitted he lied to all of his nearest and dearest including his management, ITV and his family.
Shortly after Phil did the interview, he was axed from ITV completely, with no upcoming projects planned.
Now, a year on, Phil has just started coming back to social media, but it’s reported that he’s still frustrated.
A source has now told Daily Mail that a furious Phil believes he was “thrown under the bus” and feels that he is the victim.
Phil said at the time: “Whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
“That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”
ITV said at the time they were “disappointed” with the admissions made by Phil, adding: “Phillip made assurances to us which he now acknowledges were untrue and we feel badly let down.
“We accept his resignation from ITV as had previously been stated.”
