Martha Stewart is busy scrolling in her Maine residence. The lifestyle guru, 82, happily shared a photo of her living room decorating skills — but was quickly taken aback when critics slammed her styling choices.

“I rarely read all the comments that come in after I post but because I was so happy at the transformation of my Maine living room I did go through many of the comments and was surprised at the harsh judgment so many displayed!!” she wrote via Instagram on Wednesday. “I and my Maine helpers spent three hours moving out the old furniture and putting in the new #we were pleased that the pieces actually fit the room and were proportionate to the large size of the space.”

“The [sic] was not a ‘decorator’s’ professional installation. It was an attempt to change quickly and efficiently making a house a home, or a room a beautiful livable space takes a lot more than three hours. Of course there will be color, plants, mirrors, a new rug or two and other art and objects,” she continued. “Stay tuned!!!!”

Stewart’s lavish living area consists of a beige three-seat couch, several chairs and a bench, which all face a table in the middle of the room. The sitting space also has a fireplace and more than a dozen framed photos of birds hanging on the wall.

“And by the way the birds are chromo lithographs by Carroll Tyson known as the ‘6Audubon of Maine’ -so beautiful!” Stewart quipped.

In another photo on Thursday, she shared an outside snapshot of a blue door with an American flag.

“Have a safe and happy July 4th holiday. May we all celebrate America, its beautiful flag, and our country’s freedom. This photo shows our flag hanging in the entrance of Skylands, my beloved home in Maine,” she wrote.

Stewart, however, was in New York City to celebrate the holiday this year. She went on to show video of fireworks on the Hudson River.
