Laura Hamilton is dating again almost two years after breaking up with her former husband, Alex Goward.

The pair announced they were going their separate ways in January 2022 after nine years of marriage and 13 years of being in a relationship together.

At the time, the A Place in the Sun star broke the news on Instagram, and told fans that their children will always be their “number one priority”.

Laura, 41, has recently admitted to diving back into the world of dating and revealed that she has been on some “great” evenings out.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the presenter said: “I’ve been on some great dates, to some lovely restaurants, on a picnic, to the theatre. But I get the ‘ick’ quite quickly. Once I’ve got the ick, I’m done.”

The mum-of-two said that while she is a “complete romantic”, she believes partners must have chemistry and a “genuine connection” with one another to become a successful couple.

She also said that her next love interest has to be someone who she can be herself with and is her best friend.

“Trust is everything for me,” Laura explained to the publication. “It always has been, and I don’t think that is much to ask.

“When trust is gone in any personal or professional relationship, it’s game over for me.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, the star admitted to becoming “picky” since separating from broker Alex, 42, with whom she shares daughter Tahlia, eight, and son Rocco, nine.

“I know what I want and I absolutely will not compromise on that,” she added.

While the former Dancing on Ice star may be willing to find love again, she claims that she’s “not in any rush” for the right partner to materialise and is in no rush to walk down the aisle again.

Elsewhere, the property aficionado admitted to previously using the celebrity dating app Raya.

However, after using the app, she said she’d prefer to meet someone “organically” and is looking for someone who will make her “laugh” while not taking themselves “too seriously”.

Earlier this month, Laura spoke out about how she “rebuilt” her life following the breakdown of her marriage.

Taking to social media, she told her 187,000 followers: “I have worked unbelievably hard over the last few years to rebuild my life to make my children, friends and family proud.”

Sharing a video of herself picking up a brand-new Land Rover Defender, she continued: “I came from a family that always taught me you have to work hard to create the life you want, and that is something I have always done always will, despite whatever challenges I face.”

A Place In The Sun airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 3pm.
