Fred again.. has released ‘OK OK (Hamdi Remix)’, a high-impact rework featuring Danny Brown, BEAM, PARISI, and JPEGMAFIA. The track marks the first glimpse of his newly announced ‘USB002 REMIXES’ album, due out on March 6.
Rather than arriving in isolation, the release reflects Fred again..’s ongoing, fluid approach to the USB series. Hamdi, who handles the remix, previously joined the USB tour in San Francisco and returned for this year’s New York residency, making the collaboration a natural extension of the live experience. The forthcoming album will feature seven remixed tracks drawn from the ever-evolving USB catalogue.
Meanwhile, Fred again.. has spent the past weeks embedded in New York, hosting his ‘USB002’ residency at East End Studios. Across multiple nights, the shows welcomed a rotating cast of collaborators, including Caribou, Ben UFO, KETTAMA, and BRUX. In addition, the venue hosted ‘Boris Acket – Secret Life Exhibition’, an immersive installation that has become a defining visual and emotional component of the USB002 shows, set to a reworked version of Secret Life, Fred’s ambient collaboration with Brian Eno.
Looking back, the USB concept has continued to expand since its launch in 2022, initially introducing tracks such as ‘Baby Again’, ‘Rumble’ with Skrillex and Flowdan, and ‘stayinit’ with Lil Yachty. The series later evolved into ‘USB001’ on vinyl, before ushering in the current ‘USB002’ era, defined by global shows, constant collaboration, and an intentionally unfinished album format.
