Moises has appointed Charlie Puth as its Chief Music Officer, bringing one of pop music’s most technically respected artists into a leadership role at the fast-growing AI music platform.
The Salt Lake City-based company, which says it serves more than 70 million musicians worldwide, develops tools that allow users to isolate vocals and instruments, detect chords, adjust pitch and tempo, and experiment with arrangements. The app has become particularly popular among producers, music students, and content creators who rely on stem separation and practice tools in their daily workflow.
Puth’s appointment formalizes a relationship that has existed for years. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer has publicly spoken about using Moises in his own creative process, particularly for breaking down arrangements and studying vocal performances. In his new role, he will help shape the company’s product roadmap and creative direction, with a focus on building tools that reflect how musicians actually work.
Puth has built a reputation as a “musician’s musician.” Known for hits like “Attention,” “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” and “See You Again,” he has also gained a large following online for sharing production breakdowns and music theory insights. His involvement gives Moises direct input from an active, commercially successful producer at a time when AI in music remains a divisive topic.
Moises CEO Geraldo Ramos said the company views artificial intelligence as a tool to amplify human creativity rather than replace it. That positioning is central to the platform’s identity, especially as debates around AI-generated music continue across the industry.
To mark the partnership, Moises and Puth have launched a global remix competition around his new single, “Beat Yourself Up,” from the upcoming album Whatever’s Clever!, due March 27. Through the Moises app, participants can access the official stems of the track and submit remixes or covers. Puth will personally select the winners, who will receive a combined $100,000 in cash and prizes, along with signed merchandise and a backstage meet-and-greet at his Madison Square Garden show on May 29. The contest runs through March 31.
