BBC set to broadcast David Bowie tribute instead of Glastonbury Festival this summer

With Glastonbury Festival taking a fallow year, the BBC has announced a David Bowie tribute broadcast will act as its replacement.

With 2026 marking a fallow year for Glastonbury Festival and thus no event taking place this summer in a bid to preserve the land at Worthy Farm, the BBC has now announced the broadcast of a major tribute concert for David Bowie in order to replace the usual coverage of the festival. A “spectacular” celebration of Bowie’s legacy, this truly is a fitting way to honour one of the greatest artists to ever grace this planet.

Set to take place at the O2 Arena in London, the concert will feature some of the entertainment industry’s up-and-coming young performers, with all being backed up by an all-star band and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
