A truly inspirational artist and person, B Jones opens up on her career, creativity, recovery, and much more in this exclusive interview.

Continuing to leave her own mark on the dance industry and beyond, B Jones is the epitome of an artist who has dedicated her life to mastering the craft she is so passionate about. Having emerged as one of Spain’s most influential electronic artists, and making history as the first Spanish DJ ever to perform on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, her road to success has been anything but straightforward. Following her recent cancer diagnosis, she has continued to face new challenges with determination and resilience, making her ongoing transformation one of the most remarkable chapters of her journey to date. An exceptional artist and an even more inspiring person, we could not be happier to be joined by B Jones herself as she discusses her main inspirations and influences, the evolution of her sound, her Tomorrowland Mainstage performance, creating VIDA during her recovery, her latest single, ‘Children’, and much more.

Hello, and thank you for joining us! Could you provide us with insight into the main inspirations and influences that led to your chosen career path in music?

“Music has always been much more than entertainment for me. It has been a way of feeling, connecting and dreaming. Growing up in Spain, I was fascinated by how music could bring people together regardless of language, culture or background. I remember being completely captivated by the energy of dance music and the emotions it could create in a room full of strangers.

What makes my journey a little different is that I didn’t start as an artist. I began by promoting events and working behind the scenes, learning every part of the industry from the ground up. Looking back, that experience gave me a deep understanding of this world and taught me to respect every role involved in making the magic happen.

I’ve always admired artists who can create genuine emotional connections through music. For me, success has never been just about playing big stages. It’s about making people feel something. If someone leaves one of my sets feeling happier, stronger or inspired, then I’ve done my job.”

With versatility being a key aspect of the dance industry, we would love to know the origins of your style and how your sound has evolved over time?

“My sound has evolved naturally alongside my life. In the beginning, I was focused on creating records that captured the explosive energy of the festival stages I dreamed of playing one day. I loved powerful drops, big moments and the adrenaline that electronic music can generate.

As I’ve grown as an artist and as a person, I’ve become more interested in telling stories through music. Today, I still love energy and impact, but I’m equally drawn to emotion, melody and creating records that resonate on a deeper level.

I think that’s where B Jones is today: somewhere between the intensity of a festival anthem and the emotion of a personal journey. I want people to dance, of course, but I also want them to feel connected to something bigger. The music I make now reflects everything I’ve lived, the challenges I’ve faced and the person I’m continuing to become.”

Performing on major stages worldwide, including Tomorrowland, could you talk us through the journey that led to a Mainstage slot at one of the biggest festivals in our scene?

“The road to Tomorrowland Mainstage was anything but easy, which is exactly what makes it so meaningful to me.

When I started, there wasn’t really a roadmap for someone like me. I was a woman from Spain with a huge dream and a lot of determination. There were moments when people doubted me, moments when opportunities didn’t come easily, and moments when giving up would have been the simplest option.

But I’ve always believed that persistence is stronger than talent alone. Every flight, every club show, every festival, every hour in the studio and every setback became part of the journey.

The first time I stepped onto the Tomorrowland Mainstage, it was overwhelming. Not because of the size of the stage, but because of everything it represented. Years of work, sacrifice and belief suddenly became real. It was also a historic moment, as I became the first Spanish artist ever to perform on the Tomorrowland Mainstage.

What makes it even more special is that it wasn’t only a personal achievement. I know many people saw that moment as proof that dreams that seem impossible can become reality. That’s something I carry with me every time I return to that stage. Even now, after multiple years on Mainstage, I still feel grateful every single time. It’s a privilege I never take for granted.”

Sharing your own story through VIDA, a collection of songs created throughout your recovery process, we would love to know how each track reflects a different part of your journey, as well as the meaning and message behind them on a broader scale?

“VIDA is undoubtedly my most personal project to date. It was created during a period of recovery and transformation in my life, and each song represents a different emotional stage of that journey.

Some tracks reflect moments of uncertainty and vulnerability, while others represent strength, healing, hope, and rediscovering myself. Rather than creating a collection of songs, I wanted to tell a story, my story, and hopefully encourage others who may be going through difficult moments of their own.

The broader message behind VIDA is that challenges and setbacks do not define us. Growth often comes from the hardest moments in life, and there is always light after darkness. If listeners can find comfort, inspiration, or strength through these songs, then the project has fulfilled its purpose.”

Releasing your own version of the 1995 classic ‘Children’ by Robert Miles, could you talk us through the main thought process behind this production and the musical direction you chose to take for this unique rendition?

“‘Children’ is one of the most iconic pieces of electronic music ever created. The original carries a timeless emotional quality that has connected with generations of listeners, so approaching a reinterpretation required a great deal of respect.

My goal was never to replace or reinvent the original, but rather to introduce its emotion and beauty to a new generation through my own artistic perspective. I wanted to preserve the essence that made the track so special while incorporating modern production elements and a festival-ready energy that reflects where dance music is today.

For me, it was about creating a bridge between the past and the present, honouring Robert Miles’ legacy while bringing my own identity into the record.”

Music can often be a transformative force in life, and we would love to know how it has helped shape you both as an artist and as a person, while continuing to inspire your creative and artistic evolution?

“Music has shaped every aspect of who I am. It has given me purpose, confidence, opportunities, and a way to express emotions that are sometimes difficult to put into words.

As an artist, it constantly challenges me to evolve, learn, and push beyond my comfort zone. As a person, it has taught me resilience, patience, and gratitude. I’ve experienced incredible highs and difficult lows throughout my journey, and music has been there through all of it.

It continues to inspire me because it is one of the most powerful forms of human connection. Every song, every performance, and every interaction with fans reminds me why I started this journey in the first place.”

With the summer season now upon us, could you provide us with any hints as to what the future holds for B Jones, particularly in terms of new music and upcoming projects?

“I’m incredibly excited about what’s coming next. This summer will be filled with new music, I hope some performances, and several projects that continue the artistic direction I’ve been developing over the past year.

Fans can expect releases that combine emotional storytelling with the energy that has always been part of my sound. I’m also continuing to explore new creative collaborations and opportunities that allow me to connect with audiences in different ways.

Most importantly, I want to keep evolving, both musically and personally.

But above all, the biggest goal this year is to recover and feel strong again, so I can come back to the decks stronger than ever. The journey is far from over, and I genuinely feel that some of the most exciting chapters are still ahead.”

Inspiring to say the least, we will certainly be keeping a close eye on B Jones and all her future projects within our community.
