mölly and Mees Salomé have officially released their first-ever collaboration. The California-based producer, DJ, vocalist and yoga teacher has teamed up with the Dutch melodic house innovator on their deeply emotive new joint cut ‘transmission’, out now via Colorize.

The California artist and Dutch producer are both known for bringing emotional depth and intention to electronic music, and ‘transmission’ sits at the very heart of that shared instinct. The track explores the invisible connections that shape our lives, blending moments of stillness with forward momentum to create a record that lands as both meditative and dancefloor-ready.

Musically, ‘transmission’ captures the strengths of both artists. Atmospheric textures, hypnotic rhythms and soaring melodic motifs intertwine with the Dutch producer’s signature production finesse, while the California vocalist’s emotional honesty anchors every section.

How mölly and Mees Salomé built up to ‘transmission’

The collaboration marks a natural evolution of a creative relationship that has been steadily developing for years. Long before stepping into the studio together, the Dutch artist had become an early supporter of the California producer’s music, championing her releases and encouraging her artistic growth. Their connection deepened through the international melodic house community, ultimately culminating in the California artist joining the lineup for the Dutch producer’s Distant event in Amsterdam, where the pair shared a stage for the first time.

“It felt like a collaboration that happened very organically. Mees has been incredibly supportive of my journey from the beginning. After spending time together at shows and getting to know each other as artists and people, creating something together felt like a natural next step.”

The Joshua Tree inspiration behind ‘transmission’

The emotional foundation for ‘transmission’ emerged during the California artist’s visit to Joshua Tree, where she encountered Daniel Popper’s striking sculpture also titled Transmission. Created as a reminder of our shared divinity and interconnectedness, the piece left a lasting imprint and became the conceptual seed for both the single and her wider upcoming album.

“The sculpture really stayed with me. It reminded me what the point of art is — to remind us of something we’ve always known but sometimes forget. Transmission is my way of carrying that same reminder forward.”

Momentum on both sides ahead of mölly’s debut album ’22’

The release arrives during a significant moment for both artists. Since releasing her first music in 2024, the California artist has amassed more than 20 million Spotify streams, earned support from Nora En Pure, Sultan + Shepard, Above & Beyond and Tritonal, and racked up over 1,000 SiriusXM Chill spins. Her rapidly growing catalogue has resonated with listeners drawn to the emotional honesty at the heart of her work.

The Dutch producer has established himself as one of melodic electronic music’s most respected emerging voices. The Dutch DJ and founder of the Distant platform has released on leading labels including Colorize, Purified, This Never Happened, Armada and Filth On Acid, while performing at Tomorrowland, DGTL, Loveland, Pacha Ibiza and ADE. This summer, he joins the Colorize North American tour with dates in Denver, Salt Lake City and San Francisco.

Beyond its standalone moment, ‘transmission’ also marks a key piece of the California artist’s forthcoming debut album ’22’, arriving on Colorize this August. The album explores themes of trust, surrender, belonging and transformation, with ‘transmission’ embodying the project’s recurring exploration of connection — both to ourselves and to something greater.
