Justin Beatz has returned with one of his sharpest crossover statements to date. The Dominican producer and Hierro Records founder has linked up with fellow countryman Crazy Design on new single ‘Trucutu’, a fusion of pure tech house rhythms and catchy Latin vocals that delivers exactly the kind of summery, modern Ibiza energy the dancefloor is asking for right now.
Real name Keitel Andrés Ortega, the Santo Domingo-born producer has spent more than two decades in the scene, moving across hip-hop and trance before landing on the tech house and Latin tech house signature he is now known for. Through Hierro Records, the imprint he founded to push the sound globally, the Dominican producer has built a steady catalogue of records that fuse technical precision with the warmth, rhythm and energy of the Caribbean.
The Caribbean producer broke down the creative process behind ‘Trucutu’ directly, framing the track as a deliberate marriage of Dominican identity and electronic music.
“I’ve always liked the idea to mix what we have in our culture in the Dominican Republic with electronic music and giving my touch, always having the people in my mind. I was listening to the original song, and got this idea to make a tech house version. I called a friend to make contact with Crazy Design and told him the idea, to which he replied positively.”

The collaboration came together quickly once the demo landed in front of Crazy Design and his manager. The Hierro Records founder explained how the energy of the early sketch fast-tracked the rest of the build.
“I’ve sent him a demo version, which (luckily) his manager and he were together and they liked it. This inspired me more to polish that demo into the final version. It was pretty fun to work and everything came natural — the sound selection, the vibe and the feeling that all people will enjoy and dance this track when they hear it.”

Sonically, the result is a peak-time crossover that pairs a punchy, swing-led tech house arrangement with Crazy Design‘s vocal performance front and centre. The Dominican producer’s signature Caribbean groove anchors the low end, while the Latin vocal hook gives the track a built-in club identity that translates as easily on a White Isle terrace as it does on a Caribbean dancefloor.
The release sits alongside other recent tracks from the Caribbean producer’s catalogue including ‘Molly’, ‘Boom Sina Boom’ (with tech house peer Rey Pirín), ‘Rock Star’ and ‘You Wanna Dance’, with all of them riding the same modern Latin-leaning tech house wave.
