One of the most anticipated b2b sets of the summer just went down at Kappa FuturFestival. Skrillex and Four Tet linked up in Turin on 4 July for a genre-shredding two-hour marathon that touched everything from bass, hyperpop and dubstep to melodic house, big beat and pure iconic classics. Filmed and uploaded in full to YouTube, it is exactly the kind of set that reminds you why these two are among the most curiosity-driven producers on the planet.
Every corner of dance music, in one Turin marathon
The pair opened with Skrillex’s remix of SOPHIE’s ‘Faceshopping’, before a fresh ID rolled into ISOxo and DRYDEN’s ‘Pick Up The Pace’ and Chris Lake x Skrillex feat. ANITA B QUEEN’s ‘LA NOCHE’. Four Tet dropped a mysterious ID of his own, then the pair rolled through the AHADADREAM x Priya Ragu x Skrillex feat. Contra tune ‘TAKA’ in both the Caribou Remix and a Y3llO edit. From there it was Chris Lake x Sammy Virji x RoRo’s ‘925’ Four Tet Remix, Bladee’s ‘PARANOIA INTRO’ Skrillex Remix, and Skrillex x Boys Noize feat. Opus III’s ‘Fine Day Anthem’.
The middle stretch went even deeper. Skrillex and Four Tet‘s own collab ‘Heartbeat’ landed, followed by Turnstile’s ‘LOOK OUT FOR ME’ ID Remix, Skrillex x Dismantle x DJ 2K DO TAQUARIL x MC Dricka’s ‘Pente Rala’, EPROM x G Jones’ ‘1000 Cuts’, Skrillex x Sleepnet x Joker’s ‘Tears’ Neillusion Cumbia Tribal Remix, ISOxo’s ‘FUCK THE SPEAKERZ UP’, Joy Orbison’s ‘The Ray Tune’, a huge ISOxo x Jack Ü edit combining ‘how2fly’, ‘Where Are Ü Now’ and ‘Still Here’, 33 Below x Pocket x Crybaby’s ‘Close To Me’, Skrillex x Starrah x Four Tet’s ‘Butterflies’, PinkPantheress’ ‘Illegal’ Four Tet Remix, Knock2’s ‘murdah’ ISOxo Remix, Dylan Brady’s ‘Needle Guy’ and Skrillex x Moody Good x Nakeesha’s ‘move ting’.
The back end got genuinely wild. The Prodigy’s ‘Out Of Space’, Edward Maya x Vika Jigulina’s ‘Stereo Love’ in an ISOxo Edit, ISOxo’s ‘feel the sun here’, Four Tet’s ‘140Eye’, a Playboi Carti feat. Lil Uzi Vert ‘Shoota’ ISOxo Edit, Skrillex x ISOxo’s ‘fuze’ in both original and TRVCY remix, Blawan ID, Skrillex x ISOxo’s ‘Anybody’ and ‘Smoke’ feat. Cristale and TeeZandos, before Skrillex’s iconic ‘Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites’ arrived with a YOOKiE and Acraze flip. The set closed with ‘Diwali’ feat. Naisha x BEAM, and finally the ultimate Skrillex classic, ‘Bangarang’ feat. Sirah.
