Above Beyond One Mix: what the 25,year retrospective covers
Rather than a straight greatest hits, the mix reframes the trio’s most recognisable moments through the multi,channel Spatial Audio format. Long,time fans will hear how tracks like ‘Sun & Moon’, ‘Northern Soul’ and ‘Counting Down The Days’ open up when the stereo mix is stripped away and each element gets its own space. Their vocal partnerships also come into sharper focus, with Zoë Johnston appearing across multiple cuts, plus Justine Suissa on the Above & Beyond Club Mix of ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’, Gemma Hayes, Richard Bedford and Alex Vargas. Faithless fans will spot the trio’s remix of ‘Salva Mea 2.0’ in there too, alongside deeper club moments like ‘Blue Sky Action’, ‘Walter White’ and their anamē collaboration ‘Gratitude’.
“This is a retrospective mix featuring music of ours from the last 25 years, from Tri,State to Bigger Than All Of Us, and all points in between,” the group said. “It’s been very revealing to deep dive into old projects, remembering the parts that aren’t so obvious in the stereo mix, that become players in the Spatial Audio mix.”

One Mix is Apple Music’s curated series that invites leading DJs to build exclusive sets in Spatial Audio. Past editions have featured Charlotte de Witte, LP Giobbi, Jeff Mills, DJ Bone, Hudson Mohawke, A,Trak and Goldie. The Above & Beyond edition slots into a wider dance push at Apple Music that also includes Club Mix, Club Resident and Club Live broadcasts from EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland and The Warehouse Project. For Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki, it also caps a busy year that saw them continue running Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep and clock more than a decade of the Group Therapy radio show.
