“I’ve added a vinyl set to the 5-hour show, it’s going to be very interesting,” Armin van Buuren said in an Instagram reel. “I’m actually making vinyl, especially for this set. I think with old vinyl, I’ll be bringing my own vinyl as well, but the tracks are pretty long so I’ll be making some edits. But I can’t use my hot cues or the tricks I’m using right now.”
He explained the pull toward the format goes beyond novelty. “There’s something magical about the sound of vinyl and the nostalgia it creates. I mean when I started DJing, like the early days of my career, let’s say from 99 to 2005, it was completely unthinkable to DJ with anything else but vinyl. A lot of people still have really good memories of those vinyl sets.”
The vinyl portion will also change week by week across the UNVRS residency. “I’m going to plan the sets like every track, so every week is going to be different. I’m bringing my vinyl bag but I’m going to be adding some new vinyls. Yeah, I’m excited,” Armin confirmed. That week-to-week structure mirrors the ethos of his earlier vinyl-only classic A State of Trance set at the same venue earlier this summer, one of the most talked-about moments of his 2026 run.
The UNVRS Ibiza residency has already become one of the defining engagements of the White Isle 2026 season. Armin’s 5-hour Saturday format gives him room to build from deep melodic openings into peak-time uplifting trance and closer stretches, all inside the purpose-built mega-club. Adding a dedicated vinyl block inside each show turns every date into a slightly different piece of the puzzle for fans travelling in for the residency.
