The incident allegedly took place at Spacetech Halloween 2025 on 31 October 2025 in Gurugram. According to BLOT!, Bodzin’s set ran 40 minutes overtime. When he asked if they could switch over, Bodzin’s manager objected and reportedly told him “I’ll hit you.” BLOT! further alleged the manager berated him, said international headliners could play as long as they wanted, and then took another 20 minutes to pack up the artist’s gear on stage.
Entrepreneur Shuchir Soni raised the issue in an Instagram post this week, calling for DGTL India to drop Bodzin from the 2026 lineup. “Nineteen years building this scene, and that is what he stood there and took,” Soni wrote of BLOT!. He also flagged the lack of accountability that followed the incident. “Nobody said sorry. Not Bodzin. Not the manager. Not one promoter in this country.”
The situation has opened up a wider conversation about power imbalances between Indian artists and international headliners. BLOT! returned to the topic on his own Instagram Stories, clarifying his stance. “I also want to make it clear that I’m not upset that DGTL hasn’t booked me. I’ve played DGTL three or four times, and I was offered a headline slot last year under some very suspicious conditions; I refused.” He said his hope is that the Indian music industry takes it as a lesson to rectify a “bad habit that will become an industry standard very soon.”
DGTL Festival issued a brief statement on the matter. “We want our events to be respectful and safe environments for artists, teams and visitors. As this situation occurred outside our event, we are reviewing information before making any further comments.” A response from Stephan Bodzin’s team is still pending.
