Ibiza sea has hit a new record temperature. A buoy positioned near the island recorded a seawater reading of 33°C, passing the previous record of 31.87°C set in 2024. The measurement lands in the middle of a wider Mediterranean marine heatwave that has affected sea life across the Balearics and beyond this summer. Greenpeace warns of the impacts of ocean warming on the climate and biodiversity.
