Kate Middleton’s uncle is preparing to “set the record straight” in an upcoming tell-all memoir, according to a report.
Gary Goldsmith, the younger brother of the Princess of Wales’ mother, Carole Middleton, hopes his upcoming project will give the Middleton family “a voice” following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s consecutive attacks on the royal family.
“When Harry was originally compiling his book, his publisher was confident William wouldn’t comment, because it wouldn’t be fitting for a future King to do so,” a source told New Magazine (via OK! Magazine).
“Harry wouldn’t have anticipated such a comeback from Kate’s family. He and Meghan won’t like it one bit.”
As well as sharing “private family details,” Goldsmith reportedly hopes to release the book one year on from the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell book, “Spare.”
Goldsmith, 58, first teased plans to publish a memoir in 2013 after raking in $36 million through his successful IT business.
And while he initially did not want to reveal any details relating to his family or his Princess niece, it appears as though Goldsmith has done a U-turn.
“Gary has been talking to the press a lot lately and his comments seem to have gone down well with some people, especially his criticism of Harry and Meghan,” the insider said.
“He did originally plan to focus the book on himself and his journey to becoming a millionaire, but he will now add in some private family details.”
While there will be a revelation or two in the memoir, sources told the outlet that Carole and Kate will look at the manuscript before it gets passed on to the publisher for print.
“Gary is still very close to both Carole and Kate,” the source added.
“He won’t want to do anything that will embarrass them, but it could be a good way of putting a Middleton voice out there to set the record straight over some of the things Harry wrote about in ‘Spare.’”
Since reports of Goldsmith’s memoir came to light, it’s been reported that Harry and Meghan “wouldn’t have anticipated” a retaliation project.
Sources told the outlet that the Sussexes are now “dreading the book’s release.”
The Post has reached out to reps for the Waleses and the Sussexes for comment.
