The 2023 MLB season is over, and the Texas Rangers are your World Series champions.
But it’s never too early to look ahead to next season.
The Braves open as the consensus favorite to win the 2024 World Series as the offseason begins.
Atlanta is sitting at +600 to win next year’s title at BetMGM, just ahead of the Dodgers (+800) and Astros (+900).
The Rangers (+1000) and Phillies (+1100) are the only other teams with odds better than 16/1.

Despite their unlikely run to the World Series, the reigning National League champion Diamondbacks are +3000 to win the 2024 World Series, which is tied with the Red Sox and Cubs for the 14th-best odds.
The Yankees are tied with four other teams (Blue Jays, Orioles, Rays and Padres) at +1600, which is a step behind the five inner-circle of contenders mentioned above.
The Mets are just outside the top ten of BetMGM’s odds board, tied with the Twins for 12th on the list at +2500.
Hanging over all of this, of course, is the offseason, which is headlined by Shohei Ohtani’s free agency.
Ohtani’s decision has the potential to swing the odds in favor of a team like the Dodgers, who could overtake the Braves as the favorite if they can land the two-way superstar.
The futures of Padres star Juan Soto, who has been in trade rumors for months, and Japanese pitching sensation Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who is expected to come to the Major Leagues this winter, are also sure to have a big impact on the list.

But as we saw this season, preseason odds aren’t always a perfect indicator of who will come out on top in the end.
The Rangers opened the season at +5000 to win the World Series, which were the 17th-best odds on Opening Day.
Arizona, on the other hand, was +6600, which was the 7th-worst odds in baseball.
