Ant McPartlin has responded to fans’ queries about an absent name on his family tree tattoo while updating them on his newborn son.

The Britain’s Got Talent presenter, aged 48, recently celebrated the arrival of baby Wilder with his wife Anne Marie. Ant took to Instagram to announce the joyous news, posting a picture cradling his son and inadvertently showcasing his arm tattoo.

However, sharp-eyed followers noticed that one significant name was missing from the family tree ink, which included ‘Amzie’ (Anne Marie), his stepdaughters Poppy and Daisy, and the two Maltipoos (Milo and Bumble) he shares with Anne Marie, but Hurley’s name was nowhere to be seen.

Addressing the matter on X – the platform formerly known as Twitter – today, he expressed: “Hey all, I just wanted to say thank You so much for the kind messages of love and well wishes for our baby Wilder. He’s doing great. Glad you loved the tattoo as well. For all you dog lovers who asked why my beloved Hurley wasn’t on the family tree..he was! ! He was just covered by our newborn. All my love, gratitude and heartfelt thanks A.”

Subsequently, Ant posted an image revealing the complete tattoo, showing Hurley’s name etched on a lower branch to the left. Fans were quick to send their congratulations, with one commenting: “Congratulations to you both, and the wider family on the new addition. You’re gonna be knackered for those live shows! “, reports the Mirror.

The joyful birth announcement came from Ant himself using a social media platform – Instagram, posting a picture of him cradling his newborn son on Tuesday, accompanied by the words “Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!”

While his and Lisa’s loveable chocolate Labrador makes frequent appearances on her social media, during their £31 million divorce proceedings, Ant has supposedly declined Lisa’s request for exclusive canine custody, with MailOnline reporting his stand as: “She can have anything she wants except the dog.”

Following the reveal that Ant’s ex-wife Lisa Armstrong is ready to partake in a custody fight over their loved Labrador Hurley, it was also found out that Ant, now on parental leave following the birth of his first child, is all set to strive for his pooch. This comes after Lisa posted an image of the dog on her Instagram with a caption labelling him as, “Mama’s baby boy”.

Ant and Lisa decided to go separate ways in 2018, putting an end to their 18-year long married life, only for him to later marry his ex-personal assistant, Anne Marie, in 2021. Last week, he joyously announced the birth of his son Wilder Patrick McPartlin, but the good news apparently took a toll on Lisa considering they didn’t have children during their time together.

A source confided to The Sun that Lisa felt “betrayed” following Ant’s public revelation of their newborn, which has spurred her decision to retain custody of their dog, Hurley.

They revealed: “She felt very betrayed by both Ant and Anne-Marie and felt that none of this has been handled sensitively, especially the announcement of the baby. The one thing that has got her through it and been by her side constantly is Hurley she doesn’t know what she would do without him. He’s more than just a dog to her and has been a lifeline at times.”
