Cologne just witnessed one of the most memorable days of its summer, and dance culture played a starring role. On 5 July 2026, Bootshaus and Nibirii Festival brought their very own truck to Christopher Street Day for the first time, joining the annual Cologne Pride parade with DJs Brandon, Kuko, A.N.I., Johannes Schuster and Sandile on board. Around 60,000 people marched through the city in roughly 250 walking groups and nearly 100 floats, with more than one million spectators lining the streets to cheer them on.
Right in the middle of it all, Bootshaus and Nibirii carried a clear message: “Home For Everyone, Together for safer spaces in Dance Culture.” A moment that will stay with everyone came at Neumarkt, when Cologne local hero Kuko got the entire city centre dancing. The atmosphere was breathtaking, not just on the truck but among everyone standing along the route. For both brands, it was their first time joining the demonstration, and a clear statement of what they stand for: diversity, openness and togetherness in dance culture.
The debut lands at a moment when the wider Bootshaus ecosystem is expanding fast, from the Cologne club itself to Bootshaus Music, the imprint currently welcoming Dr Phunk and XETEX. Nibirii Festival continues to grow as one of Germany’s most colourful and community-driven outdoor gatherings. According to Cologne Pride organisers, more than 1.5 million people celebrated diversity across the full weekend, with Sunday’s parade cheered on, admired and celebrated throughout the city.
