Walking that metaphorical balance beam is key because, as it turns out, there’s more victories to be claimed once Olympic gymnasts hang up their leotards. 

Take Shawn Johnson and the squad she built with husband Andrew East. With a gig as a correspondent, the athlete—who collected a gold medal and three silvers while competing at the Beijing games in 2008—will be in France with daughter Drew, 4, and sons Jett, 2, and Bear, 6 months. 

“It sounds very cheesy and cliche, but there is some sort of  sentiment to being back at the Olympics, 16 years later, with my husband and my babies,” she told E! News in May. “My kids could care less about any of it. They’re going to want to, like, go to a candy store. But the fact that we’re actually doing it is pretty exciting.”
