Countryfile host Adam Henson is best known for fronting the successful BBC programme since 2001, but one thing most viewers won’t know is that his wife follows a very different diet to him.

Adam is married to Charlotte Henson – nicknamed Charlie – and the pair live together on their farm in the Cotswolds with their two children.

However, depsite Adam being a meat-eater, he has previously revealed that his wife is a vegetarian.

Talking about what he and his son eat, he said to the Mirror in 2019: “He’s very much all for living off the land and eats the meat bred on his farm when he can.

“But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate a plant-based diet.”

“After lots of auditions, I ended up getting the job. At first I was only working once a month, then when it went prime time, the viewing figures went up to six million, and that was that.

“But when the BBC chuck me in the bin – which they will do sooner or later – I will just go back to being a farmer. That’s my proper job.”

Countryfile airs Sunday nights at 7pm on BBC One.
