A clip of EastEnders favourite Danny Dyer calling David Cameron “a tw*t” has resurfaced, with fans calling it the “greatest TV moment” of all time.
Appearing on ITV’s Good Evening Britain in 2018, the 46-year-old star became an unlikely remainer icon, as he demanded to know why the former PM was allowed to relax in France as Britain dealt with the fallout from Brexit.
Joined by Jeremy Corbyn and Pamela Anderson on the show, Danny slammed the new Foreign Secretary for resigning after the Brexit vote.
“So what’s happened to that tw*t David Cameron who called it on?” he asked the panel at the time.
Co-host Piers Morgan hastily interjected: “I think you’re referring to our former Prime Minister.”
Unperturbed, Danny plowed on, asking: “How comes he can scuttle off?”
“He called all this on. Where is he? He’s in Europe, in Nice, with his trotters up, yeah, where is the geezer? I think he should be held account for it.” (sic)
Danny then labelled the politician a “tw*t” once more before the conversation moved on.
Taking to Twitter following the news of the MP’s unexpected appointment as Foreign Secretary, fans reshared the iconic clip.
“I can’t be the only one who’s thinking about Danny Dyer’s greatest TV moment,” wrote Maddy.
“Lest we forget,” Jamie added cheekily, as another fan said: “That final “T-W*T” is poetic.
“Now that David Cameron has magically reappeared it’s time to enjoy this classic Danny Dyer moment,” another one shared happily.
“No-one sums up David Cameron quite like Danny Dyer,” Deirdre noted, as Chris joked: “At least Danny Dyer has finally got an answer to his David Cameron question.”
David Cameron’s appointment as Foreign Secretary comes shortly after the news that Suella Braverman has been sacked as Home Secretary.
