Grading the Jets’ 20-14 win over the Eagles on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Offense

The Jets moved the ball but could not put it in the end zone until the interception by Tony Adams gave them the ball at the 8-yard line with less than two minutes left. The Jets had 244 total yards, 89 of those on the ground. If the Jets had not come up with the late-game dramatics, the story of this game would have been the offense letting the defense down. The Jets went 1-for-4 in the red zone, settling for field goals before the late touchdown. They were 2-for-11 on third down. QB Zach Wilson (19 of 33, 186 yards, 73.5 QB rating) did not make any major mistakes. WR Garrett Wilson (8 catches, 90 yards) made some big plays and kept the offense moving.

Grade: C

Defense

The Jets won this game because of their defense. They forced four turnovers, the last a Tony Adams interception that set up the go-ahead touchdown. Philly gained 348 yards but only scored two touchdowns. The Jets continually came up with big stops. QB Jalen Hurts (28-for-45, 280 yards, 1 passing TD, 1 rushing TD, 3 INTs, 59.5 QB rating) did some damage with his legs (8 carries, 47 yards) but was forced into some huge mistakes by the Jets’ defense. WR A.J. Brown (7 catches, 131 yards) had a big game but missed one long throw that could have been a touchdown and did not get into the end zone. The Eagles only rushed for 80 yards.

Special Teams

Kicker Greg Zuerlein continues to be outstanding. He made all four of his field-goal attempts and kept the Jets close enough to take the lead with their late heroics. Punter Thomas Morstead had three punts inside the 20 and Irv Charles made a beautiful open-field tackle on one return. The Eagles did not hurt them in the return game.

Grade: B

Coaching

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh was a happy man after Sunday’s win vs. the Eagles.
AP

Robert Saleh has done a magnificent job making his team believe. Even without Aaron Rodgers, the Jets have stayed together and they registered the biggest win of the Saleh era Sunday. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich had a great game plan against the Eagles without his top two cornerbacks. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett had an aggressive approach but he needs to solve his unit’s red-zone issues quickly.
