After the shocking news was revealed that Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are divorcing, the much-loved couple’s fans have been left devastated.
The pair have been married for 14 years after getting married in 2010 and spending 13 years together prior. They are parents to their 22-year-old son Jack while Eamonn, 64, is also dad to sons Declan and Niall, and daughter Rebecca from his previous marriage.
The news has sent shockwaves through the television world, with fans rushing to social media to share their sadness at the demise of one of TV’s much-loved couple’s split.
Social media users flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts as one person said: “Sorry I’m not free I’m busy watching Eamonn and Ruth’s best bits and crying.”
Another upset follower penned: “Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are getting divorced. I always loved Fridays #ThisMorning with Eamonn and Ruth.” (sic)
Somebody else said: “wow Eamonn and ruth are divorcing? thats something i thought i would never see!”
Yet another X user expressed: “The announcement of Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford’s divorce comes as sad news. They’ve been a familiar presence in the media landscape, and their separation marks the end of a long partnership.”
A fifth said: “Whattttttttttttttt? I like Ruth Langsford and Eamonn. Oh wow.” (sic)
While a sixth heartbroken fan added: “Why are Eamonn and Ruth not trending yet? This is bigger than the election and the footy…”
The pair confirmed the sad news through a representative who said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Eamonn and Ruth, 64, hosted This Morning together from 2006 to 2021, filling in for the regular presenters during school holidays and in their usual Friday slot.
Eamonn now hosts his own breakfast show on GB News with co-host Isobel Webster.
While Ruth has been a staple on Loose Women on and off since 1999 as a panellist and anchor.
