Erin Andrews has a two-word message to critics: Calm down.
When discussing the buzz surrounding glowing comments she and her “Calm Down” co-host, Charissa Thompson, made about pal Travis Kelce — who is currently dating Taylor Swift — Andrews revealed on Tuesday’s show that “somebody in the industry” offered a critical take to Thompson about the remarks.
“We had openly said, which got some attention, ‘Taylor Swift, you should date Travis Kelce.’ We both love Travis Kelce, we’ve been open with that,” Andrews said of an August 2023 installment of the show, when she and Thompson pled for the pop star to give the Chiefs tight end a chance.
“I can be very open that he’s good-looking, he smells great cause my husband [former NHL player Jarret Stoll] thinks he’s good-looking and he smells great. Charissa got a phone call from somebody in the industry that said to her, ‘You really shouldn’t say that about athletes because, you know, you just don’t.’
“What? What are we saying?”
Andrews, 45, expressed how she and Thompson, 41, “can have fun with s–t,” adding the two are happily settled with their personal lives.
“We’re not hitting on the athletes,” the Fox NFL Sports personality said.
Andrews has been married to Stoll, 41, since 2017 and the couple welcomed son Mack via surrogate over the summer.
Thompson is dating businessman Steven Cundari.
Andrews and Thompson have advocated for a Kelce-Swift love story, with the WEAR by Erin Andrews founder recently pointing out that the two-time Super Bowl champ has “got a glow to him” now.
“That’s a glow-up, girls. He looks fantastic,” Andrews said of Kelce on the “Today” show earlier this month.
Kelce first expressed interest in Swift, 33, in July when he failed to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it during her “Eras Tour” stop in Kansas City.
The 12-time Grammy winner then sent social media into a frenzy when she attended a Chiefs game in late September.
Swift has appeared at four of Kelce’s past five games, including Sunday’s 31-17 win over the Chargers.
The two were photographed holding hands as they left Arrowhead Stadium, where Swift sweetly planted a kiss on Kelce’s cheek postgame.
