The Giants handed the Jets the game on a silver platter.

Brian Daboll and the Giants should be embarrassed for the way they lost Sunday’s game. It’s a good summation of just how atrocious this Giants season has gone, but this one takes the cake.

First off, Graham Gano should make that field goal with 30 seconds left from 35 yards. But he was coming in banged up and it was raining and he missed a kick earlier in the game. Brian Daboll was not afraid to ever go for it or take chances last season. This year, it’s all changed. He’s been coaching a bit more scared, without the killer instinct he had last year.

Of course, the massive amount of key injuries play a big part and not having your first or second QB in the game. But nonetheless, Daboll coached Sunday not to lose, instead of coaching to win a game. You just can not win like that in the NFL. The Giants are now in full tank mode as they are 2-6 and out of any playoff race, barring a miracle.

To react to the 13-10 overtime loss to the Jets, we bring you a crossover episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast, where I joined Lawrence Tynes and Brandon London.

Blue Rush Podcast with Jake Brown, Lawrence Tynes & Brandon London:

  • GIANT LOSS: Tynes would have gone for it on the fourth-and-1. But Gano usually makes that kick and should. They ate the clock and ran the ball pretty well in the fourth quarter. It was one of the worst losses for the Giants in a long time.
  • OFFENSIVE OFFENSE: They coached scared and not to lose. The passes they did call were elementary, Receivers should be beyond upset. Giants put too much on the back of Saquon Barkley by not throwing the ball. Giants gave the game away.
  • SEASON OVER: Playoff hopes are out the window. Time to trade guys and see what you have in the youth. If the price is right, trade Saquon Barkley.
