GMB’s Susanna Reid has been spotted donning a pair of ‘smart’ Boden trousers that are both ‘comfortable and flattering’. And it seems the 53-year-old presenter has found her go-to workwear staple as she has worn the same style from the brand, the Westbourne Ponte Trousers, on two occasions in different colours over the last few weeks.
Last Monday, she paired the chic navy trousers with a red stripe with a pink Boden Bow Neck Button Down blouse for her appearance on This Morning alongside Cat Deeley, Ben Shepherd and co-host Richard Madeley.
Then, on Wednesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain, Reid opted for the same style but in a reverse colourway, wearing the red trousers which feature an elegant navy side stripe. She teamed them with a navy blouse and wedge sandals, demonstrating the versatility of the trouser style – and looked amazing.
Priced at £85, the trousers have a ‘flattering’ wide-leg shape that is complimented with front-pressed creases, that lend the garment gorgeously to a smart, office-ready look. They’re available in sizes 4-22, with three lengths to choose from, catering to all body types. They’re also a lovely trousers that can be dressed down for a smart-casual look with some trainers and a crisp white tee.
The trousers, also available in ‘winter green’ and ‘hot pepper’, have been highly praised by shoppers, who say they’re as comfortable to wear as loungewear, reports the Mirror.
One hailed the trousers as ‘fabulously comfortable’ and left a five-star review that read: “I was looking for red trousers and these fit the bill brilliantly. The colour was perfect as was the fit and the quality. Will buy again in a different colour..”
Another added: “Love these trousers so much. They look smart for work but feel like trackies. They’re so soft and stretchy but still thick and flattering.”
“Perfect stretch and length as I’m 5’6. I absolutely love these trousers and think they fit great,” wrote a third. “I really love how stretchy the waist is as well since it means I can have a full lunch without needing to unbutton them. The navy and coral red stripe make them look a bit like a marching band outfit but they’re too comfy to return.”
With a fourth adding: “Very comfortable and fit true to size they are also super flattering and I can’t wait to wear them!”
However, some have said that the sizing can be a little bit ‘off’, with one shopper adding: “These trousers run very large, so size down! I’m 5ft 7″ and ordered a size 8L + 10R. They were not that different in length, both of them are definitely wider than the old versions of the ponte trousers.”
For a style that’s a little more relaxed, River Island’s Red Side Stripe Wide Leg Joggers are a lovely alternative and have more of a casual but cool vibe for £40 with a casual drawstring waist – plus they’re available in five other colours. The brand also has a smarter red pair with a white stripe travelling down the seam of the leg as well as on the waistband. These are currently on sale for £15. Alternatively, M&S offers these Jersey Side Stripe Wide Leg Trousers for £35, and while they may not come in as many colours, they’ve received hundreds of five-star reviews from customers.
