Jim Carrey has no plans to carry another “Grinch” film.

Despite a report from Giant Freaking Robot that the 61-year-old actor was set to return to “Universal Pictures for ‘The Grinch 2,’ once again playing Dr. Seuss’s most famous and ill-tempered creation,” a rep for the actor confirmed that the rumors were false.

“There is no truth to Jim reprising his role as the Grinch in a sequel to ‘The Grinch’,” Carrey’s rep stated to People.

A spokesperson for Carrey and Universal Pictures could not be immediately reached by The Post for comment.

The “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” star original took on the role of the grumpy green character in the 2000 film adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s 1957 book directed by Ron Howard titled “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

The movie starred starred Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Molly Shannon and Anthony Hopkins, and featured appearances by Howard and his daughter Bryce Dallas Howard.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” would become one of Carrey and Howard’s biggest domestic and global box office successes to date. According to Forbes, it would go on to gross $260 million domestic and $345 million worldwide.

Regardless of the film’s success, Carrey is unlikely to return to the big screen for any project.

The star announced in 2022 that he is retiring from acting after becoming one of the most well known comedic actors in Hollywood

“Yeah, I’m retiring,” the actor told Access Hollywood in 2022. “I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like — and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough,” he added. “I’ve done enough. I am enough.”

Carrey, however did tease that the right role might bring him back to the spotligh

“It depends,” he explained to Access Hollywood. “If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink, that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break.”
