Ex-Jets quarterback Joe Flacco made his former team’s defense look like a joke on “Thursday Night Football,” tossing three touchdowns in the first half and throwing for 309 yards in a 37-20 victory.
An NFL bettor on FanDuel Sportsbook had this in mind with a pricy $2,250 parlay to payout $44,861.49 on Flacco to throw for 300+ passing yards and over 2.5 passing touchdowns.
Oddsmakers expected Flacco to struggle against the Jets’ pass defense, which is among the best in the league.
But Flacco made the Jets’ secondary look like they were planning for their offseason vacation.
He hit running back Jerome Ford early in the first quarter for a seven-yard touchdown, followed by a 50-yard reception that went the distance later in the game.
All of this came with top receiver Amari Cooper sidelined.
The 38-year-old Flacco was an afterthought to most teams, never receiving a work out from other teams and signing on Cleveland’s practice squad.

Meanwhile, the Jets moved on from Flacco, opting to stick with Zach Wilson as Aaron Rodgers’ backup quarterback in 2023.
Wilson has had an uneven season with New York, where we’ve seen Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian also take snaps for Gang Green.
Flacco looks to be an upgrade over all of them and is now nearing favorite status to win Comeback Player of the Year over Damar Hamlin,
Hamlin has been the favorite all season, but his lead is dwindling, down to -155 on BetMGM.
