Joe Swash said he is feeling much better after the EastEnders actor came down with “man flu”.

The 41-year-old opened up about his Christmas Day celebrations as the TV star gave an insight into his downtime with his loved ones as he issued a health update.

“We get like the man flu and it’s the worse,” Joe explained. “But I’ve not been that ill in ages. It was only like 48 hours. It was just awful.”

He continued: “And I’m one of these people that hate being sick. It sort of like gives me the shakes. I was just physically puking up for ages. Yeah, I’m a lot of a lot better now. Thankfully.”

The on-screen star, who shares his youngest three children with his wife Stacey Solomon, gave a family insight as he addressed a previous Christmas disaster.

Joe’s comments come after the actor partnered with Three UK, which performed research into how Britons use their phones over Christmas.

The network’s recent study revealed that connectivity plays a vital role in our festive celebrations, with broadband access (41 per cent) and phones (38 per cent) making up the nation’s top five Christmas Day essentials.

The I’m A Celeb star revealed the moment his phone came in handy one Christmas when he previously suffered a cooking disaster after he accidentally served a dishwasher tablet in his gravy.

He commented: “It was one Christmas where I made the gravy for our Christmas dinner.

“I’ve got the pot out of the cupboard but I didn’t realise that there was still a little bit of dishwasher tablet in the pot. And everyone poured the gravy over their dinner. And it just tasted awful.

“So I had to use my phone to order some more food. So it did come in handy that day.”

Speaking about Three UK’s results, Joe said: “I have loads of kids and we have things going on. And the phone does come in handy at Christmas when it comes to things like doing Christmas dinner. Also, staying in contact with all of our elderly relatives and family members who can’t be there. Video call means the world to them.”
