John Summit has just revealed the conceptual vision behind one of the most ambitious productions of his career. The American DJ-producer has confirmed that his upcoming ‘CTRL ESCAPE’ North American arena tour will transform its venues into oversized corporate offices inspired by the hit Apple TV+ series Severance.

The American producer broke the news during a panel at the Spotify Beach event at this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France. The Cannes Lions panel also featured South Korean star EJAE, LinkedIn Chief Brand Officer Heather Freeland, Gap Global CMO Faby Torres, alongside Spotify’s Head of Creative Lab Kay Hsu and Head of Artist Partnerships Ashley Graver.

Cubicles, fluorescent lighting and a 20-date arena run

The Chicago-born artist’s ‘CTRL ESCAPE’ tour comprises 20 dates and kicks off on October 1st at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois, the college town where the American DJ studied accounting before pivoting full-time into dance music. The tour takes its name from his sophomore album, which dropped earlier this year on Tax Day, effectively flipping the date he once dreaded into a career milestone.

The Chicago star also confirmed that his team is now developing custom set design that leans directly into the visual world of the Apple TV+ series, all sterile cubicles, fluorescent-lit office bureaucracy and the macrodata refinement aesthetic that has made the show a global pop-culture obsession.

“I’m going to bring the corporate cubicle kind of lifestyle to the stage. It’s kind of like a Severance-type vibe, but turning these arenas into giant corporate offices and also a rave.” – John Summit

The American DJ also emphasised that the venue scale is exactly what makes the concept possible. “It’s going to be something super special that you can’t do at a traditional nightclub,” he added, framing the tour as a chance to deliver a production level that simply does not fit inside the kinds of club rooms that defined his earlier career.

An arena moment for one of the year’s biggest dance artists

The ‘CTRL ESCAPE’ tour lands at a moment where the Chicago producer is sitting at the top of the global dance touring conversation. Following the success of Experts Only Ibiza and a steady stream of crossover club hits, the American star’s arena pivot mirrors what artists like Fred again.. and Disclosure have done in recent years.

The visual reference point also taps into a smart cultural moment. Severance has become one of the most discussed television series of the streaming era, with its sterile aesthetic instantly recognisable to a global audience. By weaving that aesthetic into the arena production, the Chicago DJ is positioning the tour as a conceptual statement rather than a standard run of shows. Tickets to the ‘CTRL ESCAPE’ arena tour are available via the American artist’s official channels.
