Linda Robson thanked her “incredible” co-stars who sit beside her on Loose Women, before hailing Stacey Solomon. The 65-year-old ITV panellist choked up when she celebrated the ladies on International Women’s Day.
On Friday’s edition, Linda thanked her friends for their support over the years. She was heard saying: “You lot, when I had my depression and anxiety and had to go into rehab. You lot were the ones that were there and supported me”.
Before publicly stating that Stacey Solomon helped her get home early after noticing that she was struggling during a getaway to Ibiza. In the sweet admission, she acknowledged Frankie Bridge and said: “You weren’t here then, but you would have been there,”
“Everyone was ringing my family, checking to see how I was every day, you were all amazing. We were out in Ibiza for a boot camp and I had a proper breakdown. Stacey [Solomon] had to bring me home a day early because I couldn’t get through the day,” she added.
“You were all amazing. I didn’t have a phone but you guys were ringing my kids all the time to see how I was.” Co-panellist Nadia Sawalha told her pal: “You are our friend and you were in such a sad and unhappy place. Just as human beings, we swelled towards you.”
At the time when she was abroad, she admitted she tried her best to “act normal and be part of the gang, but I was struggling to get through the day”.
She explained that she snuck a couple of bottles of vodka in her case which she drank to try and knock herself out at night – but it did not work.
“I’d already had a couple of sleepless nights and, by the third, I ended up having a proper meltdown,” she shared.
Linda has been honest about her mental health battle and previously opened up about struggling with insomnia, and OCD. With the actress at the start of the year publishing an autobiography named Truth Be Told.
The star was once even put on suicide watch after suffering a breakdown that forced her to come off air for a couple of years.
She admitted that her struggles dated back to 2008, when Ben Kinsella, a close family friend was tragically murdered at the age of 16.
The Birds of a Feather actress said things reached boiling point when she resulted in relying on sleeping pills as well as became alcohol dependent.
Earlier this year she confessed that she once “necked” a bottle of alcohol and was “wrestled off” by security guards in M&S following a stint in rehab.
This led to three stints in rehab and clinics until she was diagnosed with a rare allergic reaction to an antidepressant. Due to this, the star was not allowed to see her beloved grandchildren for some time.
