Loose Women star Jane Moore teased a royal may join BBC’s Strictly but not as a dancer.
It comes after professional Nadiya Bychkova revealed that Princess Anne said she would consider participating in the competition. The dancer said the royal dished the news to her at an event last month.
Jane, 61, revelled at the prospect but suggested the Princess Royal would be more suited to the judging panel if one of the BBC favourites decides to leave after Nadiya confessed the royal has “lots of personality”.
“Indeed there is,” Jane wrote in her column for The Sun. “But one suspects that Princess Anne might be better suited to a place on the judging panel if no-nonsense Craig Revel Horwood ever decides to leave.”
She added: “I’d pay good money to hear her declare a routine as: ‘Facking orful.'”
It comes after pro-dancer Nadiya told the publication that Anne was an avid watcher of the BBC show.
Nadiya, 34, said: “I met her at a ballet event. She is a Strictly fan and she wants to go on the show — she told me.”
Earlier this year, Queen Camilla said she was “one of Strictly’s greatest fans”.
The royals are such avid viewers that there have been discussions to film for the BBC1 series at Buckingham Palace.
Meanwhile, Craig, who has been a judge on Strictly since its 2004 launch, recently shut down claims he was planning to leave the show and insisted he would return in the autumn.
In an appearance on This Morning in December, he addressed the rumours while chatting to Kate Lawler about his pantomime appearance as the Wicked Stepmother in Cinderella.
Kate asked him: “Are we going to see you on Strictly next year?” to which Craig shut down any speculation as he replied: “Yes you are! I’m definitely coming back. Don’t believe any of those vicious rumours, no.”
He added: “I might hang up my dancing shoes just on the stage, and go towards direction, but that’s about it.”
