Marks and Spencer shoppers have been left delighted at the return of a sell-out summer dress that they couldn’t get their hands on the first time around. The M&S Pure Cotton Midi Cami Shift Dress was snapped up when it first went on sale, but now it’s back in stock in its original white fabric and a stunning new vibrant-orange colour.
The M&S dress costs £39.50 and is a summer wardrobe staple as it can be worn for casual daytime occasions and dressed up for evening events. John Lewis is selling a similar style dress in orange for £65, while New Look is selling an Orange Jersey Strappy Midi Dress for £22.
The M&S cami-style shift dress comes in sizes 6 to 24 and is available in petite, regular and long lengths. It’s made from pure cotton poplin and has a stylish mid-length hem, a square neckline and a side zip fastening.
The dress is part of the M&S Collection, a range of easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that combine classic and contemporary styles. Marks and Spencer announced the return of the shift dress and its new colour in an Instagram reel which features an M&S insider wearing the dress.
She’s paired the garment with a straw beach bag, a gold necklace and large sunglasses. The caption reads: “That STUNNING sell-out summer dress, this time in a shade as bright as the glorious sunshine.”
Many shoppers have reviewed the new orange dress and the original sell-out white version on the M&S website where it has an average rating of 4.5 out of five. One person said: “Beautiful dress. Simple style but looks the part. Versatile – can dress up for the evening. Fantastic price.”
Another commented: “Must-have summer staple. Really comfortable summer dress for all sorts of occasions, nice simple detailing too.”
Someone else wrote: “It’s soooooo pretty! A beautiful, flowy 50’s style summer dress. It’s nigh on impossible for me to stop swishing it back and forth when wearing it. It’s gorgeous and makes me feel fab!”
One shopper complimented the garment, but wished it had an extra feature. They said: “Beautiful summer dress, fits really nicely – true to size. Only one thing would be even better – if it had pockets, but anyway great purchase and I will wear this dress for the whole summer.”
Another person agreed and had a slight issue with the material: “This dress is very flattering and conceals my tummy… which, as a woman of 62, is a blessing. I love the 1950s vibe. Only complaint is it’s a little see-through and we all like pockets in dresses and there are none.”
One shopper gave a handy tip in their review: “Stunning dress, looks so expensive on and is beautifully tailored. Bigger busted women, do size up!”
